Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity look for a Credit Risk Analyst to join our growing Credit Risk department. This opportunity will give the ideal candidate to be part of a grouping company and work closely with senior stakeholders across our business and the wider Provident Financial Group.

As a Credit Risk Analyst you will be responsible for:

  • Undertake case retrospective analysis to obtain insight on relevant data and trends to be used to target credit policy enhancements.
  • Maintain an effective feedback loop on the output of such analysis.
  • Ensuring that any actions identified from the retro reviews are logged and followed up.
  • Responsible for the running and management of relevant reports.
  • Complete a monthly report detailing the output of the retrospective analysis and suggest any recommendations to credit policy or processes.
  • Working with the team to assist in the delivery of team objectives.
  • Support line managers in the operation and improvement of policies and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance to credit policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to FCA Conduct Rules
  • Other support to the Credit Risk function as required.

  • Attention to detail
  • Remains calm under pressure
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Able to develop a plan of approach but if the situation demands it then able to adapt
  • Good time management working to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
  • A common sense approach
  • Comfortable working with and understanding complex end to end processes
  • Ability to critically analyse information and identify patterns and themes
  • Comfortable presenting feedback and results to both peers and managers
Qualifications

Essential:

  • Some experience of working in a previous assurance, audit or review role
  • Some experience of developing and applying policies
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to make decisions based on own judgement and discretion, then explain rationale to senior team
  • Excellent Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel) skills

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Consumer Finance and/or Vehicle Finance
  • Experience of developing and applying credit policies
