A superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accountant for a 1 year fixed term contract. Working for a global market leader and major player within South Wales, you will be required to report into the Accounting Manager on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance to local GAAP and US GAAP policies.
This role is extremely varied and hands on and it requires an individual that is flexible and willing to help out with any task, no matter how small in order to get the job done within the agreed timescales. You will have an inquisitive nature, be pro-active in approach and have a seasoned background within financial accounts. My client is seeking a candidate to manage and over-see their European entities.
Key responsibilities will include:
Ensure overall general ledger integrity
Production of month end and year end
Coordinate SOX internal and external audit
Review, monitor and control monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliation
Inter-company reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
Timely and accurate submission of annual corporate and tax reporting
Improvement of internal control system and preparation of policies & procedures
Liaising with Audit
Focusing on European regions
Must possess strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Previous exposure of working within shared service environment would be highly advantageous
- Oracle experience preferred
- Strong analytical and project management skills

- Flexible and willingness to take on a challenge
The role is to cover a period of maternity, however for the right candidate there could be the possibility of an extension or permanent employment. My client is seeking an immediate starter ideally, and the role will be a mixture of home working and office based, especially whilst training.
