My client is a growing company based in Aston Birmingham seeking a Cantonese and Mandarin speaking Credit Controller.
You will be working with a highly successful, strong major food wholesale organisation who has continued to perform in the current climate. The Credit Controller is a mix of customer service and finance; you could be working with other processes within the Accounts department as well as Sales Team.
Much of the daily role will involve communicating directly with other businesses or individuals. You will be asking customers to pay their debts so it is important that you can exercise tact and discretion when required.
Role
Responsibilities:
• Making contact with customers whose payment is overdue and explaining our terms of credit-this requires good communication and written skills
• Using databases to check credit records and set up new entries
• Logging all calls for accounts that have issues
• Follow up Credit and Returns from customers
• Follow up Price Difference issues
• Closely monitor customers who have missed regularpayments
• Look at non-reconciled transactions on accounts
• Processing payments
• Updating customer data
• Creating new customer accounts.
• Analysing customer data.
• Provide customer feedback to relevant departments
• Reporting to Senior staff on unusual patterns/behaviours related to customers' accounts or any other issues
• Liaising with Accounts Officer if debt recovery procedure is required
Personal Attributes:
• Cantonese and Mandarin speaking
• Excellent team player
• Organised and methodical approach
• Good communicator - calm but assertive
• Familiarity with data entry and analysis
• Ability to listen to customers
Suitable Candidate:
• You will need good numeracy skills
• Have intermediate MS Office skills including Word and Excel
• Be confident and have strong communication skills
• Remain calm under pressure
