Your new company
Your new organisation are one of the longest established chartered accountancy and business advisory firms in the Scottish Borders with over fifty years' experience. They are based in the town of Galashiels but have clients who they assist throughout Scotland. The firm has three partners and nineteen staff with expertise in many different sectors including tourism, hotels, the licensed trade, building, farming, charities, retail and sports clubs. Due to the current circumstances, the firm would welcome applications out with the Scottish Borders as they will be more flexible in remote working however the role will involve occasional travel to their Galashiels office.


Your new role
This role involves Bookkeeping tasks and preparation of year end accounts for a wide-ranging portfolio of clients that covers sole traders, partnerships, limited companies. The preparation is primarily done from computerised records but occasionally may involve working from manual records. Additionally, you may be involved in the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.


What you'll need to succeed
As the successful applicant, you will have experience of managing various workflows at the same time and be confident in dealing directly with clients. Ideally, you will have a minimum of 18 months experience of working in practice and have a real desire to continue or start studying towards your ACCA qualification.
