Description
As Financial Control Manager you'll be working in a hands-on accounting role with a strong balance sheet and financial control focus, supporting the Financial Controller and driving improvements in process, reporting and controls.
You will also be responsible for the production of high quality and timely consolidated management information ensuring that they meet the internal and external reporting obligations, enabling informed business decisions and driving continued performance and control improvements.
The role also supports working capital management through the oversight of sales ledger processing and the development and production of cash flow reporting and analysis.
Key responsibilities:
Deputising for the Financial Controller, acting as a primary point of contact within the team and across the business for the escalation of queries and to represent the voice of finance as appropriate
Running the financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across all financial statements and supporting analyses, strong controls and continuous improvements of our month end processes
Developing and delivering on the Financial Control roadmap to advance the processes, governance and controls
Acting as a primary contact with external advisors / auditors managing information requests and responding to queries as required, including external auditors, tax advisors and banking audit teams
Responsible for maintaining and strengthening the balance sheet and cash flow forecast models, including daily cash, and monthly balance sheet and cash flow statements. Analysing variances and refining the forecast assumptions accordingly to ensure robust and accurate forecasting and budgeting at both a subsidiary and consolidated group level.
Identifying and monitoring cash risks and opportunities
Assuming overall responsibility of balance sheet control, maintaining the balance sheet control workbook ensuring every account is reconciled and reviewed and developing governance and controls across the balance sheet
Performing monthly reconciliations and analysis for some of the more involved balance sheet accounts and identifying and delivering processing improvements and simplification projects
Providing cover for your team as required, including on monthly cost of goods sold (COGS), recoveries, goods received not invoiced (GRNI), stock reconciliations and CID reporting
Managing the day to day workload and ongoing development of your direct reports ensuring high performance across the Financial Control team
Playing a key role in the ongoing development and improvement of financial policies and procedures across the Group
Profile
Qualified Accountant - ICAEW/ACCA or equivalent
You'll need strong analytical & technical skills with an ability to provide insight as well as accurate and timely reporting; with an eye for detail
Able to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels across the business and present information in an easily understandable manner
Enthusiasm and drive to improve reporting processes and financial controls within the finance function and the wider business
Possess an up to date knowledge of technical accounting issues, accuracy and integrity
Experience of supervising members of staff (desirable)
Advanced excel skills
Knowledge of ERP packages
Job Offer
