Assistant Systems Accountant
Te ahuatunga a te turanga/About the Role
The Assistant Systems Accountant works closely with colleagues within the Financial Management Information System (FMIS) team to ensure the integrity of financial data is maintained and continually enhance the performance of all FMIS modules and reporting tools.
In this role you will:
* pro-actively manage the existing financial modules to ensure the integrity of data,
* monitor business as usual processes to ensure they are running smoothly,
* maintain user administration and provide system user support, development and production of financial management information, and
* support changes to business processes to enable users to work smarter.

Part of the Strategy, Governance and Finance Group, Finance leads the design, development and delivery of effective financial strategies, policies, systems and management aligned to the Ministry's strategic direction. The team enables the Ministry to meet its financial reporting and taxation requirements, provide payroll, employee data, and financial transaction processing.
He pukenga tou/Skills and Experience
To be successful in the role:
* Relevant tertiary degree or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience and a commitment to ongoing development
* Studying towards or a member of Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand or equivalent desirable
* Computer literacy, including intermediate knowledge of MS Office suite
* Experience working as a member of a team that provides financial and systems support
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Possess highly effective planning and organisational skills, including time management and prioritising work
* Be a self-starter and team player, innovative and resilient
* Have the ability to work through a problem and identify the cause with a view to establishing a solution
* Demonstrate high levels of integrity
