Your new role
You will be reporting to the Financial Controller in a Rent Accountant position. You will be responsible for leading on all aspects of rent accounting; analysing unit costing and incorporating it within rent setting to maximise income for the organisation. You will be responsible for rent reconciliations, ensuring that rents are up to date and paid correctly. You will be responsible for reviewing the rent setting and budgets, rent statements and recovering other costs from the properties. All of this whilst complying with up to date statutory regulations. You will be responsible for managing a team of 3 Finance Officers/Assistants.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need:
- Experience working in a similar role in a housing association
- Up to date knowledge of statutory and regulatory regulations in regards to rent setting.
- Previous exposure to leading the rent setting process
- Confidence in completing complex reconciliations
- Line manager experience
- Good Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience using Orchard is desirable
