An opportunity to make your mark in the FMCG sector

As an AIM – listed company, we are UK's leading speciality bakery group. Our business expertise and our baking skills continue to win industry accolades. We are currently a £300 million plus turnover business and growing at a fast pace. If you strive for personal growth, reach for excellence, pride yourself with learning on the job, enjoy working closely with people and ready to build an impactful career, then Finsbury Food Group is the place for you.

We've come a long way in a short space of time, by bringing successful bakery firms into our group, and investing in them and their production facilities. And although you won't see our name in the shops, we're the people behind many of the tasty ranges of cakes, bread and bakery snacks available in the UK's leading supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and high-street coffee chains. We also enjoy license partnerships with entertainment brands, for whom we manufacture quality celebration cakes, such as Harry Potter, Xbox, Universal and Disney.

Our Finance teams help us by being involved in every decision-making process in our business, providing analysis and insight to drive sales and profit while ensuring a high level of financial control & compliance for the Finsbury Foods Group. You could be part of this incredible team, which is instrumental to our growth as a business.

What the programme offers

The programme will be a placement into real jobs that will cover the operational, commercial and financial control side of the business. You will be given responsibilities and work on exciting strategic projects, that will give you the breadth and depth to develop into a well-rounded finance business partner.

Working across the business, you will be given the opportunity to learn how to business partner with different functions. This might involve working with Sales & Marketing, supporting our commercial and development teams to evaluate new product development, or working with Operations to get a flavour of how factory and supply chain performance works and help us drive profit improvement initiatives. During your department rotations you will also spend time working as part of the financial accounting teams to ensure that we are compliant with external and internal controls and pull together management and statutory accounts which help us drive our business.

Throughout the programme, you’ll learn how numbers are important and how they are involved in every part of growing and running the business.

Your development

We have kneaded together a blended learning approach, which will enrich you with the skills and knowledge you need, to help you fast track your career. The clearly defined, and well-structured development pathway will encourage your personal and professional development, allowing you to apply your strengths and passions to the world of work. We will support you in gaining your CIMA qualifications, and you will have the opportunity to benefit from our mentoring programme, while receiving guidance and support at every milestone.

What we look for

There are a few ingredients you will need, to join our fast paced, award-winning, innovative company. Along with respect, team work, honesty, good communication and a generous helping of ownership, you must thrive on new and challenging experiences, have a passion for working with numbers, enjoy spotting trends and be hungry to understand how businesses work.

We look for graduates that have qualities in commercial awareness, analytical and strategic thinking, good people skills and the ability to be an agile learner. A liking for bread and cakes can only help.
