Sellick partnership are currently recruiting an interim Chief Internal Auditor on behalf of a council in the Midlands.

My client are looking for an experienced and effective strategic Senior Internal Auditor to lead a team of auditors. The role is demanding and will require very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. You will be experienced at working at a senior level, with elected members and senior officers and capable of balancing complex and sensitive issues.

As a senior member of the team, you will be required to provide strong and effective professional leadership to the Audit and Risk team whilst supporting the Corporate Leadership team with timely and well balanced advice in a fast changing and demanding environment.

Key responsibilities for the Chief Internal Auditor.:

Develop, improve and maintain services
To direct and improve the delivery of a robust, high quality Internal Audit service
To develop and maintain risk support across the Council
Producing, implementing and monitoring the annual service plans
The effective management of large financial budgetsPlease note that this role will be based at home and is paying between £300 to £500 per day depending on the candidate's experience. Experience working within a Local Authority is essential.
