Chief Internal Auditor
Your new company
Your new company is a multinational corporation with a long established history around the World, in different areas and sectors. You will be working as part of their mining business, which owns a majority stake in an East African mining operation.
The business' Internal Audit function is mature and well established, however the ExCo for the specific mining operation are looking for someone to replace the outgoing incumbent who will be moving into a finance role before long.
Your new role
Your new role will be a varied one, but ultimately responsible for all Internal Audit matters that affect the mining operation. Line managing 1 person, you will ensure the safe operation of the mine, as well as ensuring that the business' risk management framework, and internal controls are robust and fit for purpose.
This will require you to be aware of lots of moving parts, including of course the international laws and regulations that will affect the specific mining operation.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience within the Mining sector directly
- Ability to add value at a strategic level, as well as getting hands-on when needed
- Prior experience in leading an audit function is desirable
- Ability to work in the UK without restriction
- Willingness to travel around 25% of the time
