Client:

Castlefield Recruitment are working with a multi academy trust in order to recruit an interim director of finance. They are going through a major transformation and this position would play a key part of in the project.

Role:

As a director of finance you will work closely with the CEO, COO and Heads of School in order to manage an environment going through major changes.
Duties:

• Supervise a small professional team and to plan and coordinate all finance-related activities as well as the finance development plan
• Improve financial and business systems, providing formal training and high quality financial advice to a range of staff
• Develop budgets for each school in conjunction with the CEO and Heads of School and combine these into an optimum budget for the Trust, including the development of a strategic forward financial plan
• Financial management and reporting - ensuring the Trust makes the best possible use of available resources including income generation
• Financial risk management
• Oversight of payroll systems and controls
• Leadership of effective financial control systems, policies and processes
• Take a commercial and business approach to the provision of all services through appropriate tendering of services and balancing service, quality, standards and cost
• Oversee the project management of the conversion of both sponsored and converter academies
• Develop and implement financial plans, taking into account ESFA and relevant government guidelines

Person:

The successful candidate:

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CIPFA)
• Experienced in strategic management within education
• Ability to work remotely
• Ability to start immediately
