A world-leading retail company is seeking a Business Controller to join its team in Malaysia. Reporting to a Finance Director in this job, you will provide financial and accounting support to the group of companies and its business leaders.

About the Business Controller Role:
In this business critical role, you will be responsible for managing all the financial and accounting activities for the retail division including budget planning and forecasting, month end closing, and store profitability analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports to corporate by comparing actual vs budget and actual vs last year

Support the buying team with related sales analysis

Prepare annual budget and monthly forecast for management review

Give deadline for HOD to submit individual department budget

Reconciliation and analysis of weekly and monthly sales and gross profit

Monitor actual gross profit (%) against budget

Prepare monthly management account report for management review

Monitor department expenditure variance by comparing actual vs budget and highlight any unrealised plan and find out the reason behind it

To succeed in this Business Controller role, you will need to possess Power BI and Share point experience.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting, or equivalent degree with a major in finance/accounting. Professional qualification in CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is an added advantage

Three or more years of work experience in finance and accounting related roles and responsibilities

Proficient in MS Office. Fluent in English. Able to quickly absorb professional and technical knowledge

Flexible, adaptable, analytical and result oriented. Ability to handle multiple priorities
