Dartmouth have been retained by a Private Equity backed financial services business based near Oxford to lead the search for a Finance Director. The business provides preminum products across a wide range service lines and have also invested significantly in digital and data assets, and is now looking to use these investments to drive the next phase of growth. The success of the business has been founded on a strong entrepreneurial, can-do philosophy and the group is looking for a like-minded individual keen to develop their career in this pivotal role.



Reporting to the Group CFO, the Finance Director will join the company during a period of substantial growth and investment. The sucessful candidate should be a hands-on, results-focused, and highly commercial Finance Director who will lead the finance team, whilst partnering with senior stakeholders to formulate and deliver an ambitious growth strategy through both organic and acqusitive means. The Finance Director will be responsible for the overall financial management, provision of all aspects of financial support to the management team, delivering insight and leadership.



Key Duties:




  • Contribute to the development of the business strategy, partnering the leadership team on strategic decisions

  • Provide mentorship and leadership to the business, including development and challenge of sophisticated investment cases

  • Ultimate responsibility for and oversight of all financial and regulatory reporting and forecasting ensuring these and other ad-hoc requirements are met on an accurate and timely basis

  • Overall responsibility for financial control, including integrity of processes, balance sheet and cash flow management and cost/budget control

  • Ownership and development of management information in conjunction with the data team; providing insightful analysis to optimise performance

  • Manage and develop a team of 11



Desired Knowledge & Skills:




  • Qualified accountant

  • Private Equity Experience would be highly desireable

  • Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills

  • Strong grasp of market economics, competitive dynamics and drivers of profit in a financial services business

  • Able to provide robust budget control and decision support

  • Sound leadership and managerial skills

  • High EQ with ability to develop internal and external relationships
