We have an exceptional opportunity for a high calibre Finance Director to join our successful and growing business. We have seen rapid growth over the past 5 years, with us not only having our car park management business but also acquiring several different companies covering facilities management and project management. As such, as Group Finance Director, you will be responsible for managing the finances across multi subsidiaries which are distinctly different legal entities and have a total turnover in excess of £20m.

Reporting to the CEO, and being part of the Board, the successful candidate will be responsible for enabling finance to fully engage with operational management to help drive business growth and performance. Your professional accounting qualification and track record in financial controls will provide peace of mind on financial governance and enable you to develop meaningful and insightful management information for the business to act upon. You will have primary responsibility for the planning, implementation, managing and running of all of the finance activities of the company and its subsidiaries, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling. You will be tasked to improve profitability by identifying and tackling inefficiencies across the group of businesses and advising on the impact of commercial trends and operational decisions.

Your responsibilities across the Group will include:

  • Direct responsibility for the business's management accounting and statutory reporting and budgeting processes.
  • Developing and improving the performance of the Groups finance function.
  • Managing the system of risk assessment and reporting to the Board.
  • Further develop the internal controls and the compliance and enforcement regimes around them
  • Maintaining policies and procedures.
  • Working with the External Auditors to develop control systems across the business to satisfy both internal and external audit requirements.
  • Developing and delivering strategic financial business plans.
  • Managing the preparation and delivery of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Cash flow management and forecasting.

The successful applicant will be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA or CIMA) who has at least 3 year's experience within a similar role, with proven experience of managing multi-subsidiaries which are distinct legal entities.

This is a hands-on role and would suit a Divisional Finance Director / Head of Finance from a larger firm looking for their first number one role or an experienced Finance Director looking for a new challenge.

The ideal candidate should be commercially astute, and able to identify key trends, risks and opportunities within the business. It is essential that you have a proven track record of driving improvements, cost savings, leading on due diligence exercises, executing and managing a consolidation strategy, and financial Modelling experience.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a good understanding of strategic, commercial and operational activities and have a proven track record of influencing and working with stakeholders to deliver objectives. You will have sound judgement, tact, credibility, diplomacy, and the ability to influence without dictating and challenge where necessary at all levels within a commercial business.

You will be highly numerate, and able to work with complex data, from multiple sources, in different formats, to provide concise and meaningful commercial information to aid the decision making and help drive margin and growth.

You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, with continuous improvement in mind, and the ability to motivate oneself, and others, to deliver a high standard of work to agreed timetables, evaluate progress and implement corrective action. You must have strong analytical skills, be organised and able to present conclusions to support decision-making. Strong managerial experience is important to this role.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and innovative finance and business professional to joining a growing, well respected company. If you consider yourself to be a committed, career driven professional who can demonstrate the above experience and who would welcome the stimulus of this finance post then we would be pleased to hear from you.
