Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
Management
- Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
- Provides status of financial condition by collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, recommending plans
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Supervise the FP&A role
Transactions
- Ensure that accounts payables are paid in a timely manner
- Ensure that accounts receivables are collected promptly
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
- Ensure the required debt payments are made on a timely basis
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
- Implementation of new processes and automation of processes and systems
Reporting
- Issues timely and complete financial statements
- Coordinates the preparation of the corporate annual report
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of the company operations
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
- Manage the production of the annual budgets and forecasts
- Calculate the variances from the budgets and report significant issues to management
- Provide for a system of management cost reports
- Provide financial analysis as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Compliance
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions
Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or equivalent business experience
- 5-10 years of experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designations preferred
- Previous experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager
- Proficiency with Xero accounting software, bill.com preferred
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
