My client is a large Public Sector organisation based in Newport
Description
Due to a retirement, my client, a large Public Sector organsiation based in Newport are looking to recruit this role on an initial 6 month FTC with a view that the role could go permanent for the right person.
Reporting to the Head of Business Systems and Governance, the Head of Governance & Controls will be responsible for;
Prepare Governance reports for the Executive Board and Audit Committee.
Manage the Financial Control Procedures across the organisation ensuring procedures are developed, maintained and fully implemented.
Maintain Standard Financial Instructions and Scheme of Delegation.
Ensure the organisations' approvals hierarchy is implemented, maintained and accurately reflected through the Oracle system as a key control mechanism.
Review existing processes with the goal of improving service efficiency.
Line Management Responsibility.
Profile
Professional accountancy qualifications. CCAB qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
Experience, working at a senior level in a large complex organisation.
Ability to work on own initiative and organise own workload and that of the team to operate effectively.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a manner which is clear, fluent and persuasive.
Interest in/proficiency with using Business Systems.
Proven track record of successfully introducing service improvement.
Enthusiastic, committed, proactive and innovative.
Job Offer
A salary in the range of £45,000 - £51500
The role may be offered on a day rate
