Summary
Are you a qualified senior accountant / CFO with demonstrable experience leading the finance function for a group of companies / not-for-profit organisations?

Working EXCLUSIVELY with our client - a renowned and highly respected Charitable organisation based in Leicester - we are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to support the Board of Trustees on a full-time permanent basis.

Overview Of The Role
As the Chief Finance Officer, you will be responsible for the efficient management and processing of the organisation's financial transactions, ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of all financial affairs across a group of companies, as well as overseeing all of the organisation's assets incl. investments.

You will report to and advise Senior Management, Trustees & Committees on all matters financial, leading on the strategic development of the Charity. The role is a busy & varied one, comprising of:

*Preparation & management of financial budgets at a departmental and organisational level, along with the day-to-day financial administration of the Charity (incl. reporting, cash flow & ensuring the organisation has adequate banking facilities),
*Leadership of a senior finance team and management of the internal audit function,
*Working closely with external auditors on year-end assurance work, addressing any on-going issues that may be involved,
*Manage all the Charity's tax affairs (incl. VAT), seeking professional advice where appropriate,
*Review & management of investments made by the Charity, and advise on future investment policies,
*Provide insight and contribute to the development of the Charity's financial & operational strategies, spearheading conversion of strategic vision into financial & budgetary objectives,
*Working with the Charity's Trustees, Auditors, Legal Advisers & Colleagues to deliver statutory requirements,
*Develop a sound understanding of Charity Commission requirements / legal responsibilities,
*Compile & present financial forecasts for integration within the Charity's business plan,
*Prepare & co-ordinate the Charity's medium-term financial plan, reporting to Trustees on the overall shape and direction of the Group's finances,
*Strategic leadership on financial elements of the business plan.

The Right Person
As Chief Finance Officer, our Client is seeking candidates who exhibit the following qualities / skillsets:

Essential Requirements:
*ACA, ACCA or CIMA-qualified accountant,
*A thorough knowledge of current legislation, statutory requirements & best practice in finance,
*Experience of successful management of an investment portfolio (circa £20m),
*Demonstrate exceptional senior financial expertise... articulate, energetic, committed & self-motivated with an ability to lead & inspire staff,
*Broad commercial acumen at senior management level,
*Experience at director level of preparation of statutory / management accounts, preparation of budgets & VAT return, and experience of managing an internal audit function for a group of companies,
*Evidence of well-researched, factual and persuasive written communication (e.g. strategy, business plans, annual report, formal reports),
*Able to work with high-level competing demands and manage workload effectively,
*An excellent communicator with the ability to network and develop strong professional relationships,
*Proficient with SAGE & Office 365,

Desirable Requirements:
*FCCA-qualified accountant,
*Knowledge and/or experience of the financial aspects of estates management / property development,
*Experience in a trading subsidiary / social enterprise,
*Experience of successfully leading change-management projects,
*A demonstrable background of working with volunteers,
*Able and willing to develop knowledge & understanding of benefit pension schemes.

In return for this fabulous opportunity with a renowned Charitable organisation, our Client is offering a competitive salary complete with an extensive benefits package:

*Appointment Type: Permanent

Salary:
£70,774 (rising to £74,500 upon completion of 6-month probationary period)
*Hours: Full-Time, 37.5hrs per week
*Holiday: 36 Days (28+STAT) incl. Xmas Closure
