Eden Scott is working with a large-scale Financial Services company who operate within the Asset Management and Investments sector. Based in Edinburgh City Centre, they are known for offering excellent career development prospects and market leading rewards packages.

To boost the strength of their Finance Business Partnering team they are looking to appoint someone who will face off to their investments teams and provide a service designed to support the achievement of commercial objectives.

You will work with senior level finance colleagues and key operational business partners to provide a high level of insight and analysis. You will also support the broader Business Partnering team to ensure there is a consistent approach to the quality and delivery of insight and information.

The role will involve.

• Providing analysis and insight that links financial reports to business strategy, ensuring financial performance is understood and acted upon.
• Influencing your Business Partners to adapt and change their activities to improve performance and commercial outcomes.
• Improving the quality and accuracy of the information available by working with the Business Partnering and Financial Reporting teams.
• Building positive business relationships with Financial and Accounting colleagues and the operational business. You will be a key influencer.
• Using a range of technical skills to influence positive outcomes including: Budgeting, forecasting, and re-forecasting, financial modelling and report writing.
• The scope of influence will include: Cost discipline, investment proposals, OPEX, CAPEX, Business Cases, and ongoing performance.

This role is suitable for candidates with a demonstrable background and experience in Financial Services operating as a Business Partner. There is a preference for experience gained in Asset Management and Investment Houses.

The following skills and experience are important.

• Qualified Accountant holding a CA, CIMA, ACCA or other relevant professional accounting membership. You will have 3-5 years or more PQE.
• Asset Management, Investment Management or Financial Services experience is required as the client is looking for someone to bring significant expertise.
• Superb communication skills including a track-record of having influenced senior staff in a business partnering style of relationship.
• Superb Management Accounting technical skills, financial modelling skills, experience of managing large and complex datasets and driving insight and analysis.
• Thought leadership skills, the ability to drive positive commercial outcomes and a track record of improving and changing business.
