We have an excellent opportunity for a General Accountant to join our growing Private Office team on a Maternity Cover basis in Borehamwood.
Role responsibilities for the General Accountant (Maternity Cover):
Reporting to the Head of Private Client Financial Management, you will support our valued high net worth clients by providing a full 360-degree service. Duties include:
Completing and filing VAT returns
Bookkeeping (Sage and Xero)
Providing full client liaison on updates and queries
Preparing management accounts and cash flows
Recording clients' financial transactions
Preparing appropriate schedules and reports as requested by Clients and Partners
Managing profit and loss statements and balance sheets
Filing historical records and retrieving necessary documents as needed
Recording cash receipt and handling bank deposits
Providing administrative and clerical support
Other ad hoc duties
Requirements for the General Accountant (Maternity Cover):
Previous professional practice experience in a similar role
Solid understanding of accounting software, including proficient knowledge of Xero and Sage Line 50
Good knowledge of VAT law and compliance
You will enjoy working amongst a diverse team of professionals
A keen eye for detail
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work unsupervised and to tight deadlines
Good organisational and time management skills
Flexibility, professionalism and confidence
Able to build successful relationships through credibility, trust and mutual respect
