An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join our high performing Treasury & Transactions team on a full time permanent basis.
Based in our Sighthill campus, our finance team provide an efficient, customer focused, proactive service to the University's internal & external customers and suppliers. The Transactions team is organised into 4 flexible teams covering Fees, Credit Control, Accounts Payable and Cash & Banking.
The role
As Finance Assistant, you will primary be allocated to support the Fees team and will be responsible for dealing with internal and external contacts, who require information or have queries, which will require you to be responsive and prompt in responding to these requests.
You will deliver first class customer service by ensuring your understand and explore our students needs whilst working within the University's policies and procedures.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a proactive, customer focused person with a calm, empathetic nature to provide a comprehensive service to our students and stakeholders.
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Experience and knowledge of financial systems
- Excellent customer service skills
- High level of computer literacy including MS Excel, MS word and network based emails
- Highly numerate with a systematic approach
- Strong attention to detail
Desirable attributes:
- Working knowledge of SITS and the Agresso system
- Experience working in Further/Higher Education or public sector
