Job Details

The Finance Assistant role working for a great Financial Services organisation in Warwick will initially focus on the covering of transactional finance duties across Payable and Receivable Ledgers. This will give you the grounding to progress into more accounting based work supporting the Accountants with more month end analysis and reporting duties as you showcase your capabilities and understanding of accounting principals.

Description

The main duties for the Finance Assistant role will focus around:

  • Post purchase invoices onto systems (Various software)
  • Check supplier statements and request copy invoices.
  • Reconcile accounts payable to the creditors control account in general ledger and the accounts receivable to the debtors control account.
  • Updating accounts payable with new suppliers.
  • Raise & post sales invoices.
  • Updating sales ledger with new customers.
  • Various reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
  • Checking expenses, credit card and petty cash and that all receipts have been included - Once checked, ensuring the correct authorisation has been applied and booking the data.
  • Reconcile payroll and pension accounts.
  • Support payroll manager with processing of client payrolls.
  • Working with and updating the Standard operating Procedures.
  • Setting up payments within agreed routines and across various banks

Following which after 12 months you will then progress into more Financial and Management Accounting duties supporting the FC with all aspects of Management Accounts preparation, financial analysis and reporting for various clients

Profile

The successful applicant will have some exposure to finance and be dedicated to their own professional progression, seeking to complete AAT studies before progressing into their professional qualifications. You will have a strong work ethic, dedicated to the provision of excellent services to customers and have superb communication and IT skills. You will be comfortable using Excel and be confident in communicating financial information to non finance staff.
