Finance Analyst: Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2021: Bristol: Paying £350 per day
We are proud to be supporting our multi-national client in their search for an experienced Finance Analyst to join their team on a contract basis until the end of March 2021. The Finance Analyst will report into the Finance Manager for Competition Finance Analysis and will be responsible for collating and providing information to Ofcom to support their decision making as well as the following:
- Producing Regulatory Financial Statements (RFS) by gathering both financial and non-financial data and performing activity-based costing analysis
- Ensuring that the RFS meets both the organisations and Ofcom's quality standards
- Working with colleagues across the business to understand performance in the SMP markets and the drivers for movement in key cost and asset groupings
- Understanding and explaining the key drivers of regulatory profitability
- Identifying and implementing new methodologies to produce the RFS
- User acceptance testing for excel models, building controls for the new workflows and any other optimisation work that is required
- Reviewing and validating the revenues and cost attributions
- Identify any errors or divergence from published methodologies
- Explaining published regulatory results to internal and external stakeholders
In order to be considered for this opportunity it is essential that you are a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) as well as possessing the below skills and experience:
- Strong analytical skills and a flair for problem-solving
- Great communication skills to explain your work to non-subject matter experts
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships across the business
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, and experience with other Microsoft Office applications
- Experience of working with large, complex datasets (mandatory)
- Financial modelling and costing analysis experience (preferred)
- Record of independent delivery of key outputs and process improvement (mandatory)
- Experienced Alteryx or similar software user (preferred)
