Qualified Financial Controller for a SME business based in Coventry.

Hays are delighted to be supporting an interesting SME manufacturing business who are looking to appoint their first Financial Controller due to the continued growth of the company.

Your new role
The company are looking to appoint their first Financial Controller to support the exciting development of a brand new facility based in Coventry. As the new site is under Construction the role will be home based for the first 18-24 months with occasional meetings in the parent head office. This role is a unique opportunity and will report directly into the Managing Director and a small senior leadership team.

We are looking for a hands on Financial Controller who will take responsibility for overseeing all financial aspects of the business. This will include setting targets and budgets, maintaining financial statements and implementing changes to support the growth of the business.

The role will involve full preparation of financial and statutory returns, liaison with the external auditors, VAT returns. You will also be responsible for the production of the monthly management accounts, production of annual budgets and a rolling three year financial plan. All accounts will be in line with UK GAAP.

Other duties will involve scoping out the finance package for the new company and also recruiting and developing a team during the first 18 months. You will also be expected to attend monthly board meetings and present financial and budget information.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a fully Qualified Accountant, ideally working in a hands on role within a SME. You will be self sufficient and looking for the opportunity to take on a number one role in finance involving both day to day control whilst also business partnering with the company and wider stakeholders. This is a very hands on role but also offers excellent progression.

What you'll get in return
The company are offering a basic salary between £60,000 and £65,000 dependent on experience plus bonus and other excellent benefits. This is also a great opportunity to join a company at an great stage of growth and development,
