Purpose of the Job

This is a key people leadership role where you will own and be responsible for the Payroll function, ensuring onward growth of the department and continued increase in revenue generation. You will be responsible for the overall management, performance, and delivery of the Payroll function to our external schools and trusts.

You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of and compliance with processes, systems, and procedures of paying employees, ensuring all statutory returns are accurately prepared and submitted by the required and legal deadlines. You will be responsive and proactive internally and externally, working closely with the Head of Operations, Head of Payroll & Pensions and Director to ensure an excellent payroll service is always delivered.

You will work closely with the Transformation team to ensure the successful implementation and transition to a new payroll system for both our customers and employees. You will have a strong bias to leverage technology, standard processes and insightful reporting and analytics.

Main Responsibilities/Duties of the Job

1.Accountable for maintaining and improving customer satisfaction to our schools and customer groups

2.Build, coach, and mentor the payroll team to facilitate an environment of best in class payroll services

3.Develop the operational teams, whilst ensuring service delivery is kept to a high standard

4.Support the business development and sales team in growing the core business

5.Working with the operational leads to create robust service account plans

6.Ensure customer journey is at the heart of our transformational change

7.Lead customers and internal teams through large scale transformation whilst maintaining our core service

8.Provide subject matter expertise to support system integration and configuration requirements

9.Maintain appropriate system and process controls to protect the integrity of payroll and people related data

10.Have an audit mentality, constantly looking at areas for improvement with high levels of attention to detail and accuracy

11.Pay an active role in the senior management team, working in partnership with the Head of Operations, Head of Payroll and Director to review current processes and practices

12.Outsource Management, making sure that the service you are receiving is in line with the terms of business and service level agreement
