Fixed Term (6 months) Contract for a Portfolio Manager within the Financial Services Sector.
Your new company
I am delighted to be partnered with a leading Sheffield based Financial Services organisation to recruit for an exciting fixed-term contract opportunity as a Portfolio Manager.
Although this is initially a 6 month fixed term contract, there is a potential for permanency with this role.
Your new role
As Portfolio Manager, you will be part of a team who act as a partner between your new employer and external financial institutions with the aim to unlock finance streams for your client SME businesses.
You will be responsible for lender support and portfolio management of the new products whilst supporting existing products and initiatives.
You will manage the relationships (from a portfolio perspective) with a variety of scheme lenders and oversee any applications to vary their scheme facilities, such as increasing lending limit allocations. You will check and challenge the delivery partners on scheme-related requests and prepare internal applications when necessary to seek credit approval via the appropriate governance forum. Following approval, the Manager Portfolio will work with the Legal department to finalise documentation and then liaise with the lender to conclude arrangements. You will provide regular reports on existing products and manage the critical Quarterly Portfolio Review of schemes within the Portfolio in collaboration with senior Bank stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
It is essential that you have experience working within the financial services sector and a good understanding of business administration and the small business 'Access to Finance' environment. You will also have a high standard of Excel skills to undertake effective modelling and monitoring of the portfolio. You will be confident when engaging with key stakeholders, including lenders, and that you have experience of preparing reports and presenting business cases for credit approval.
It would also be beneficial to have experience of preparing and presenting business cases for credit approval, alongside holding a qualified professional membership of Institute of Financial Services or equivalent body.
What you'll get in return
Flexible working options available. Your role will initially start working from home, and may involve occasional travel to London once COVID restrictions are reduced. The organisation are currently in process of formulating a formal home working policy.
