Financial Controller needed for well known Hotel in Wellington. This position is responsible for all aspects of the Accounts and Night Audit Functions.You will be working closely with General Manager and/or Area Financial Controller and the Department Managers.

You will be required to establish, implement and continue to monitor all finance and accounting policies and procedures of the hotel.

The Role:

As the Financial Controller you will be responsible for the following key tasks:
  • Cash Controls, Debtor Controls and Stock Controls
  • Internal and head office reporting requirements including Weekly House Profit Forecasts and monthly Profit and Loss reporting
  • General Ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, preparations and submission of monthly, half-yearly and yearly reporting packages
  • Payroll controls, wages and salaries disbursement procedure including compliance with the various award provisions applicable, visa restrictions of staff and tax legislation
  • Preparation, quarterly and monthly forecast preparation
  • Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cashiering, stock control

The Person:
  • Tertiary qualified in accounting, finance or business
  • Have experience in using computer based accounting systems
  • Strong analytical problem solver who loves the numbers
  • Must have worked in a similar role in hospitality, or have a hotel background
  • Strong communication and administrative skills
  • The ability to work very well under pressure
  • Experience with OPERA advantageous but not essential.

Hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.
