The Optionis Group is one of the UK's most successful professional services companies, and we are looking for a Payroll Manager to become responsible for the accuracy of our Parasol payroll service to external employees

What we are looking for:

CIPP qualifiedKnowledge of current payroll legislation and ability to interpret and develop as policy to inform serviceAbility to manage a quality serviceManagement experience including building capability, workforce planning and resourcingExperience of change management and implementing new payroll systemsExceptional communication skillsProven ability to work under pressure and to deadlinesFlexible and logical approach to all payroll related issues and processingResponsibilities within the role include but aren't limited to:

Responsible for the operation of Parasol payroll processes, reconciliations and assisting with the development and implementation of improvements.Responsible for ensuring all payrolls are accurate and executed within agreed service levels.Ownership of implementing, maintaining and auditing controls to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and errors are mitigated in the payroll function including completing the monthly auditsOwnership of monthly reconciliation of pension and AOEParticipation as aide to Head of Payroll of project-based work relating to the wider Group that requires technical payroll input.Keeping up to date with technical and legislative developments in payroll or impacting payroll. Implement new procedures to ensure continuous improvement within the department.Support and coach team members with any identified training needs.Lead the team using a performance development planning.Support all team members regarding query escalation and resolution.To improve service delivery for clients/employees and accountantsInvestigate HMRC Specified Charges and appeal HMRC Penalty Notices and resolve complex queries with HMRCOwnership of the tax year end tasks/project for payrollWhat you get in return:
