Audit Technical Manager
ur client is a large international accounting firm based in central London. Their audit clients are many and varied and range from small owner managed business right the way to FTSE250 Listed Entities. These are exciting times for the technical team as they look to change the way they provide technical support to our audit engagement teams, to be more proactive in ensuring auditors get things right first time. They have developed a novel model for technical support, working closely as part of audit engagement teams on the largest, most complex engagements.
The purpose of the role is to support high quality audit service delivery by providing technical advice and support to audit engagement teams.
Main Responsibilities
Acting as a member of the newly formed Technical team, you will have a key role in providing technical advice and support to auditors across the spectrum of clients and sectors which we serve.
Your role will include providing advice to audit teams regarding audit methodology, auditing standards compliance, Companies Act and similar requirements, and financial reporting standards (e.g. FRS102, IFRS).
In addition, as part of the wider team you will work with colleagues in developing guidance, training, audit methodology, client facing advice and other materials to support the delivery of high quality audit services. Depending upon your experience or interests, you may also focus on supporting specific sectors which we serve.
You will:
Hold a relevant and recognised accountancy qualification and have at least five years' relevant experience.
Have either experience of working in a technical team environment or recent experience in external audit with a strong interest in audit/financial reporting technical matters.
Strong technical knowledge of both auditing and financial reporting standards, allied with a practical approach to the application of standards in the real world.
Be a highly skilled, client-focussed, communicator who has an exceptional track record of building and maintaining strong relationships.
This role will support both flexible and home-working.
