The role is for a Finance Assistant within the Business Finance, Financial Control team which focusses on the Asset Finance and Invoice Finance lending divisions and is based in Reading. The team is responsible for the financial accounting, reporting and controllership for these two business lines.

The role of Finance Assistant is really important to us. The role holder will be responsible for assisting the team and Financial Controller with all aspects of day to day operations and accounting, with primary responsibility to resolve bank and control account reconciliations by liaising with divisional operations teams, cash operations and the bank reconciliations team.

When the time is right, we would love to welcome you to our Reading office. In the meantime you will be based remotely. You'll be made to feel part of your new team by your Line Manager, Financial Accountant, and colleagues through regular contact and virtual interaction.

What would your day look like?

Controllership


• Daily updating of Cashbooks and posting transactions to Leasesoft and the general ledger


• Reconciliation of control accounts with regular escalation of issues to Operations


• Reconciliation of general ledger to source system accounts


• Maintain integrity of financial controls.

Financial Operations


• Process customer account and adjustments on Asset Finance systems and required general ledger postings


• Support the Asset Finance business with raising of manual invoices and credit notes

Financial & Management Accounts


• Preparation of month end accounting adjustments


• Posting general ledger journals

High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping
Good communication skills both written and oral
Desire to learn and develop new skills
Excel Skills
