As the Finance Manager for this award-winning Cornish boutique hotel group you will work closely with the hotel General Manager and owner to manage and support the day to day business operations. Developing and then controlling the company's annual operating budget, you will provide commercial insight, advice and guidance on business and financial matters.

Your role will include the monitoring of external contracts and services provided by suppliers (including banking and audit relationships, payroll and HR services), ensuring financial and statutory regulations are complied with whilst optimising the hotels cashflow and wider financial performance.

You will also play a key role as a member of the hotels' senior leadership group developing a shared commercial mindset across the team so that the financial performance of the business is at the forefront of planning. You'll support the team to deliver best value to the company, ensuring decisions relating to staffing, stock, property and other operational costs are well aligned to revenue generation.

About you:

  • A strong understanding of the requirements of leading the delivery of effective financial management in the hospitality industry. Ideally you will be a qualified, commercially astute, accountant with both substantial and relevant experience in the hospitality sector.
  • Confident, open minded and resilient, you will be comfortable positively challenging your colleagues and having your insight and analysis challenged to ensure the right results and decisions are taken in the best interests of the business.
  • Strong numerical and verbal reasoning skills and strategic thinking skills combined with relevant and current technical knowledge and strong IT skills.
  • Commercially astute, flexible and adaptable you will have an entrepreneurial mindset and an innate drive to improve process, maximise efficiency and optimise profit, revenue and cashflow.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, presentation, team working, interpersonal and leadership skills that are effective at senior management level, throughout the business and with suppliers and partners.
