"I'm looking for this person to be our technical expert" - the Head of Finance when I took the briefing for this role.

What makes you a technical expert I hear you ask?

I'd put it at the same level of choosing "PAYROLL" as your specialist subject if you were to go on Mastermind (and have a good chance of getting all the answers right I might add).

Here, you won't have any line management responsibility instead you'll be responsible the function. Building a strong relationship with the bureau, being the go-to person internally for all things tax, pension and everything in between.

There's so much more to the role as well as the monthly payroll to process and you'll want to have the appetite to get involved and take a lead to be the right candidate for them.

It might be that you're a manager right now looking to go in a different direct away from a team or maybe you're in a standalone looking for a new challenge.

Either way you'll be someone who is confident enough to manage the function, have the drive to step into the business and take action, looking to improve processes and work with HR and Finance on multiple projects in the wider business.

REQUIREMENTS

• Available to work 4 or 5 days a week
• Senior payroll experience is essential
• Prior experience of additional project work in payroll e.g. new system implementation, bringing a payroll in - house is essential
• Experience working with a bureau and of the full end to end process would be highly desirable
• Parking available
