A charity based in Cardiff are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join them on a permanent basis. The organisation provides much valued assistance to those who use the service, providing them a platform to better their own lives. The Finance Manager role is critical in managing and monitoring the financial operations of the charity, ensuring they are compliant and go towards achieving strategic goals.

Finance Manager duties

  • Presentation of the Management Accounts and to the Senior Management Team.
  • Preparation of Key Performance Indicator reports.
  • Preparation of the annual budgets including liaising with budget holders and members of the Senior Management Team.
  • Design, document and monitor the financial systems of control including the financial policies and procedures of the organisation.
  • Supervise the calculation and payment of staff salaries and allowances, including pension auto enrolment and re-enrolment, ensuring that all year end PAYE returns are submitted by the relevant due date.
  • Forecasting and monitoring cash flow and basic treasury management.
  • Completion of the quarterly VAT returns by the due dates, including partial exemption calculations.
  • Manage and administer all Insurance Policies, Leases, Service Agreements, Gift Aid claims and Contracts (excluding those relating to employees).
  • Oversee the payment of suppliers, including processing BACS payments and the online system for company credit cards.
  • Oversee the credit control and recovery of debtors.
  • Assist with bids and grant applications and manage the on-going monitoring requirements of successful applications.

Finance Manager person specification

  • Demonstrable experience in the above duties within a small/medium sized organisation.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge.
  • High level of IT ability, including excel.
  • Familiarity with Sage Accounting software package.
