Head of Finance - Financial Controller

Nottingham - East Midlands

£65,000 base, Plus 20% Bonus, and Benefits

The client is an expanding, successful and profitable Professional Services business, providing contractual and Management services to a broad Commercial client base, predominately B2B but also private client throughout the UK. They have ambitious growth plans and need to appoint an individual to oversee the Finance function, working with the senior management team to ensure the business can scale up efficiently.

As a member of the senior management team, and reporting to the CEO, this is a hands-on role, responsible for the financial management, processing, analysis and reporting of the Company. This will include management accounts, and cash management, but importantly, providing the Board with the MI required to grow and manage the business.

Responsibilities include:

Managing a small team.Budgeting and forecasting, including profit management. Financial analysis and insight, understanding trading activities.Daily, weekly and monthly reporting of MI to the Board. Sales Ledger; timely and accurate invoicing, and maximising cash collections Purchase Ledger, including managing supplier payment terms Cash management, forecasting and reporting, both daily and weekly Banking including receipts, payments and reconciliationsPayroll; including weekly, and monthly, all Annual Returns, for some 30 staff.Book-keeping and record keepingPreparation of VAT Returns, and liaising with HMRCWork with the Auditors and AdvisorsAny ad hoc projects as and when requiredThis is an exciting opportunity for a qualified, ACMA, ACCA, ACA, to join an entrepreneurial, expanding and profitable business. Applicants must be IT literate, capable of working on their own initiative, diligent, commercial, practical, and good at communicating across the business, with clients and with senior managers and Board members. You will be comfortable being involved in strategic and commercial intentions and behaviours. This could be an excellent role for a Qualified Accountant seeking flexible hours, working both in the Office and/or remotely. The client would hope that as the business grows that this role will grow and that the FC progresses to FD, with added benefits and bonuses.
