Rullion Limited are currently recruiting on behalf of a large utilities company based in the North West for a Lab Assistant on a 9 months contract basis. We have been providing our client with experienced individuals for over 15 years helping to deliver a high number of projects within the Industry.

This role is to work within the laboratory production environment, contributing towards the day to day delivery of analytical outputs.

Operating within a tightly regulated Quality System, whilst satisfying the requirements of customers and regulators undertaking sample preparation and straightforward analytical techniques.

Accountabilities
* Operating within a team of 12 to 35 with no budget control or direct reports
* Undertaking sample preparation prior to analysis and contributing to straightforward analytical techniques and analysis
* Working to a defined quality system whilst adhering to tight deadlines with varying sample volumes and complying with the needs of the customer and changing regulatory standards
* Operating within a team environment and supporting activities according to best practice procedures as detailed in the Quality System
* Assist in the maintenance of equipment used to undertake preparation and straightforward analysis tasks
* Maintenance of own knowledge in line with best practice and changing regulatory standards including Continuing Professional Development
* Straightforward technical activities to facilitate learning and development

Knowledge and Skills
* 5 GCSEs (A-C in Maths, English and Science/technology subject)
* Basic understanding of ISO 17025, ISO 5667- part 3 and all other related regulatory requirements
* Technically Adept with IT systems, tools and databases including Nautilus, TAPS, Word, and Excel
* Good communication skills and planning and organisation skills
* Self-motivated to deliver a highly flexible sample preparation and analytical service within a changing environment including flexibility in working hours/practices

Desirable Criteria
* Previous laboratory experience would be advantageous

Additional Information
* This role is required to work 10am - 6pm Monday to Friday & one Saturday in every 4 weeks on a rota
