Grade 6 | Senior Finance Business Partner


About the role:
As a grade 6 finance business partner within one of the largest Central Government Departments, you will be a trusted financial adviser to support on critical Government priorities and provide leadership and support to the department's diverse corporate services function. You will lead a small team of finance professionals that provides finance business partnering support and financial management to a Director General group. The post-holder will lead the financial advice to departmental colleagues and other key stakeholders including financial and commercial specialists and partner organisations, as well as leading engagement with Her Majesty's Treasury. The post-holder will be responsible for supporting on funding bids at fiscal events (e.g. Budgets, Spending Reviews), advising on business cases and the implementation of new policy and transformational measures, and playing an enabling role so that budget holders can manage spend effectively.

• Experience of communicating financial performance and management information for senior decision makers and advising on associated opportunities and risks.
• Considerable experience successfully applying accounting principles and explaining them with clarity to non-financial audiences.
• Very high quality written and verbal communications skills.
• Evidence of delivering at pace under challenging circumstances and displaying strong personal resilience. Impeccable professional and ethical standards.

Desirable:

• CCAB (or equivalent) qualified accountant status
• Background and experience in Government Finance
