Payroll Adviser - Work from Home

Location: Work from home initially, then based in the Sheffield office, S1 2BJ
Salary: £24K per annum, pro rata
Contract: 5-month contract, Full time

We are Gov Facility Service Ltd, a non-profit company owned entirely by the Ministry of Justice, supplying facilities management services to 50 prisons over the South and East of the UK with an employee count of 1400.

We are seeking a Payroll Adviser to assume responsibility for the following:

  • To ensure the payroll runs on time.
  • Ensuring the accurate input of the payroll transactional data to provide accurate payment to colleagues.
  • Undertaking audit functions in regards to overtime / absence.
  • Providing guidance on complex issue from the wider business.
  • Contributing to reports for the SLT on payroll and interpreting data to facilitate decision making.
  • Maintenance and security of HR data held within Oracle in line with GDPR regulations.
  • The production and distribution of GFSL payslips on a monthly basis to all GFSL staff.

You must be able to demonstrate the following Qualifications and Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of payroll.
  • Knowledge of the end to end processes that make up the payroll cycle coupled with the knowledge of HR and organisational policies that impact on payroll.
  • Highly numerate and analytical with the ability to interpret data from a number of sources.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and manage your own workload.
  • You must be proficient with both Excel and Word.
