An international online retail business currently requires a Junior Accountant to join them on a permanent basis based in Victoria, London. As a Junior Accountant you will be working closely with the Accounting and Controlling Team - both foreign and domestic. Your core responsibilities include managing the entire accounts payable process, supporting VAT preparation and helping the team with month end as well as year end activities. You will be responsible for;
• Managing accounts payable from invoice recording to payment
• Supporting month end and year end activities ( prepare monthly accruals)
• Supporting monthly and quarterly VAT filings, both domestically and internationally
• Supporting the team in financial (UK GAAP)audits with external audit partners
• Establishing a strong working relationship with counterparts in Germany and SpainRequirementsRequired Skills:
• High professional with initial accounting/finance experience
• Solid education background in accounting, finance, or equivalent
• Basic understanding of local accounting rules ( UK GAAP)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
• Self-starter with hands on mentality and the ability to act and operate independently to accomplish objectives
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Oracle desirable
• Competent to meet assigned deadlines under pressure
• Detail-orientation, structure, methodology and organizational skills Benefits
