Credit Controller
Fixed Term Contract for 3 months initially with a possibility of extension

Merchant Rentals, established in 2002, specialise in providing tailored asset finance solutions to businesses large and small throughout the UK, helping them to accept card payments through a range of payment terminal technologies and accessories. We onboard around 12,000 new customers each year, partnering with some of the world's leading payment terminal providers, global acquiring banks and independent sales organisations. We have over 40,000 UK customers from local shops, bars and restaurants to leading retail chains and we have ambitious plans to expand our products and market share.

Our 4 strong Credit Control Team are fun, friendly and hard-working and we are looking for a like-minded individual with confident communication skills to develop a fulfilling career in credit control. You will be responsible for chasing high volume/low value debts of around 3,000 debtors per month. You must be target driven and have a strong ability to meet daily KPI's. You will pro-actively chase payments from customers, ensuring cash collection is maximised to its full potential, within set timescales.

You will handle customers with tact and diplomacy, demonstrating empathy whilst focusing on debt recovery targets. You will work to understand various Hire Agreements as well as industry regulations such as FCA, treating customers fairly, GDPR and the Consumer Credit Act and you will need strong PC skills conversant in MS Office Applications. You will maintain accurate records and provide reports on arrears, actioning cases to the point of termination and escalation.

Experience of credit control or telephone based debt recovery would be a distinct advantage as is an aptitude to learn and the self-motivated to reach targets.

Our contracted working hours are 37.5 per week Monday to Friday with flexibility around start and finish times from 8am until 6.30pm.
