AJ Chambers are currently working alongside a Top 50 firm of chartered accountants who are searching for a bookkeeper to join their cloud accounting department.

Our client is one of the fastest growing accountancy firms in the UK, this position is based in their West Sussex Office and offers some unrivalled training/career opportunities along with the chance to work with an array of interesting clients.

The ideal candidate will be an AAT/ACCA (Newly) Qualified with experience using Cloud Accounting software QuickBooks & Xero. This client is a Xero Platinum Partner and has won countless awards for the service they offer clients.

Duties:

• Reviewing day to day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients including limited companies, charities and farms as well as reconciliations of the main control accounts
• Preparing monthly management accounts to a high standard
• Dealing with client queries as and when they arise
• Managing own flow of work
• Preparing and filing VAT returns for various VAT schemes
• Attending client premises, where necessary, to undertake bookkeeping role on-site which includes preparation of management information for clients

• Providing training to clients on various packages and bookkeeping skills as required
• Supporting colleagues with accounts work when required including preparation of statutory accounts and corporate tax returns, would be an advantage
• Training and supporting apprentices with general bookkeeping skills

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience within a Practice/Bookkeeping capacity
• Previous bookkeeping experience in a professional practice
• ACA/ACCA (newly) Qualified or AAT Qualified
• Experience with Xero, Sage and QuickBooks and add-ons
• An organised individual who can act independently in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience in preparation of management accounts
• Previous experience in VAT preparation and filing for various VAT schemes
