I am delighted to be working with a leading Sheffield based employer who operate within the public sector and financial services sector to recruit into a Management Accountant position within a larger finance team.

Your new role

You'll be joining the team at a period of exciting growth. In your new role as Management Accountant you'll be working in a team of 3 reporting directly into the Senior Management Accountant. Duties will include:

  • Manage the month end close including reconciliation and closure of sub ledgers for all entities, GL review, journal management and cash book posting
  • Prepare the group consolidated management accounts with full commentary
  • Prepare the regional management accounts
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
  • Produce the monthly CEO reports to agreed deadlines Manage month end GRNI and accruals and produce monthly report with ageing of all accrual balances
  • Co-ordinate upload of month end data into the system inline with deadlines
  • Produce monthly MI on operational costs; consolidated and by team, actual v budget with commentary, update forecasts, highlight significant variances
  • Produce monthly MI on headcount and salary; consolidated and by team, actual v budget with commentary, update forecasts, highlight variances
  • Manage the production of the annual consolidated operational budget including costs and salaries for inclusion in the annual business plan providing a robust challenge to the business on proposed budgets
  • Review monthly cost allocation calculation, ensuring it accords with agreed methodology
  • Complete quarterly VAT returns and ensure that the organisation is VAT compliant


What you'll need to succeed

You will need recent and relevant experience in producing monthly consolidated management accounts, experience of managing financial ledgers and implementing necessary procedures to manage month end close to tight deadlines. Ideally you will have substantial public sector and/or financial services background. You will have strong Excel skills.

Salary of up to £47,500 per annum (dependant on experience)
