The purpose of this position is to prepare, analyse and inter-operate the financial statements of assigned sites to ensure adherence to sound financial practice and legislative requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to Company and Client Finance and Supply Chain Policies and Procedures
- Monitor adherence to Corporate Governance Principles and Practices
- Oversee daily Financial operations for various international entities
- Assist with Payroll payment runs and associated payroll taxes
- Ensure all statutory requirements are met on time
- Initiate ad-hoc payments on the banking platform
- Review all payments
- Maintain intercompany balances
- Balance sheet revaluations and reconciliations
- Reconciliation of Foreign Exchange gains and losses
- Conclude, perform and/ or review month-end procedures for reporting
- Assist International and Regional Finance departments as required
- Compile various management accounting reports according to financial and organisational requirements which include but not be limited to the following reports:
- Monthly P&L with comparison to Budgets and interpretation and corrective action in base and hard currency
- Monthly report of STE expenditure against contract and budget allowance
- Compile ad-hoc reports according to Client and business requirements
- Allocate expenditure to the correct cost centers
- Weekly cost control meetings to manage and forecast expenditure within budget
- Monthly analyses of salary expenditure against contract allowance and budget
- Investigate and implement cost saving initiatives
- Monitor, evaluate and improve on Inventory Controls and Reporting, Procurement processes and practices and Revenue processes
- Oversee Imports and Exports, ensuring cost efficiency and adhering to Customs and Central Bank requirements
- Prepare, compile and consolidate operational and capital budgets of all departments per site
- Prepare, compile and consolidate regional operational and capital site budgets
- Compile production and capital budgets for approval by Client
- Maintenance and physical verification of asset register to reconcile physical assets against register
- Facilitate the auditing process (internal & external) by supplying information to external auditors according to organisational requirements
- Review and provide feedback on audit findings
- Implementation of corrective action of audit findings
- Review and approve Client invoicing in line with the contract
- Ensure that Client invoices are submitted timeously in the prescribed manner to the Client on a monthly basis
- Manage payment by Client and resolve discrepancies
- Report and review procurement and Client stock according to contract requirements
- Interact with management, staff, customers and /or suppliers
- Build good working relationships with Client representatives
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with all the relevant stakeholders to ensure that all documentation and information required is received timeously and accurately
- Duties include estimating and negotiation of projects, attending to all contractual and legal issues, planning and forecasting
- Analysing business performance, including the profitability, revenue, pricing and cost of goods sold
- Managing budgets, expenses, pricing and commercial arrangements
- Lead role in advising around pricing for commercial contracts
- Driving efficiencies to ensure contracts remain financially viable and delivered on budget
- Partnering with Business Managers to drive financial performance
- Supporting the Business Development department by conducting analysis of commercial opportunities
- Preparing models to assess future profitability of identified opportunities
- Taking a lead role in solving commercial issues that may arise
- OECD and DTA knowledge
Qualification Requirements:
- BCom Accounting or Financial Management
- BCom Honours Accounting or Financial Management
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- 10 years experience in an International Financial role covering East, West, Southern and Central Africa
- 5 years+ experience in a Management role with a minimum of 5 direct reports
- Ability to utilise effective negotiation and persuasion skills
- Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
- Results driven
- Ability to work under immense pressure
- Computer literate in MS Office with advanced Excel skills
- Project Management skills
- Knowledge of Commercial Law and the preparation and interpretation of contracts
