Your new company
Our client is one of the UK's largest specialists within their field. Having experienced significant growth over the last 5 years, the business is looking to appoint a number 2 to the FD with the appointment of a Financial Analyst. This is a permanent role offering between £40,000 - £45,000 per annum. Our client has 3 offices across the Central belt of Scotland and the Financial analyst will be located in their preferred office location with home working options 2/3 days per week over the long-term.
Our client are a lean and innovative SME looking for an experienced accountant with the ability to ensure statutory obligations are met as well as performing analysis of management accounting information and overseeing transactions management. Your new role
The Financial Analyst job is a newly created position in the structure and will report to the FD. Finance is spread across a multi-site environment and this is an autonomous role. Areas of responsibility include accountability for the published accounts; preparation of audit packs, liaison with auditors to answer queries and provide supplementary information and providing analysis on management accounts. You will also have responsibility for liaison with accounts team for VAT returns and P11Ds for all staff and provide adhoc analysis on acquisitions and business improvement.
This is a varied and "hands on role" where you will see the end-end financial matters of the business and entities across the UK.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an accomplished accountant with experienced in statutory accounting within an SME environment. You will be qualified or qualified by experience with strong communication skills and proven ability to improve processes. You will have the ability to oversee operations across finance and work with financial and non financial stakeholders across the business.. This role has both technical and analytical elements and the individual will need to be comfortable working autonomously with their workload given the flat structure of the business.
