Senior Tax Associate

THPK Certified Public Accountants is a well-established public accounting firm located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.  We are growing and thriving in all areas of our business and are looking to add an experienced and capable team member who is ready to jump in.  As a small firm, we do it all and are looking for a self-starter, driven, and well-rounded individual with extensive public accounting experience who is willing to tackle a wide variety of tax and accounting projects.

About the Job: 

- Ideal applicants should have 2+ years of tax preparation experience (individual, corporate, and partnership tax prep)

- Applicant should have strong entrepreneurial and business management skills with experience in general business start-up consulting, tax, and financial planning

Requirements:

• BA or BS in Accounting Required
• CPA License or CPA Candidate Required
• 2+ years tax preparation experience
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow
• Versatile, flexible and willing to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Commitment to excellence and high standards, both personally and professionally
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Preferred Skills (Training available in these areas):

• Ability to correct books and ready them for tax preparation
• Experience with Lacerte Tax Software, QuickBooks Desktop, and QuickBooks Online
• Ability and/or prior experience managing staff, workflow, and client relationships
• Experience with payroll and payroll tax requirements
• Strong understanding of financial accounting
