Client Details

Our client, a growing FMCG Company based just outside Brighton on the South Coast is currently overhauling its Commercial Finance team and the appointment of a Senior FP& A Manager is a key appointment within the finance team which contributes to the Group's longer-term strategy.

The FP& A Manager reports directly into the Head of FP&A who will be new in post and keen to make improvements to the department.

The role will be focused on planning and reviewing performance against plan to drive business performance and profitability.

Description

As FP& A Manager for this Brighton based FMCG company you will be responsible for supporting the Head of FP&A in all forecasting and budgeting, including: building/maintaining budget tools, preparing budgets for key business areas (e.g. sales) and supporting management/board papers.

You will produce intra-month commentary on key trading areas to ensure the business meets its strategic
objectives.

Working with the senior leadership team you will build reports and overhaul month end reporting packs. This will include building reports to compare performance against budget/forecast and/or prior periods in both MS Excel and
their budgeting tool

You will also be expected to support the wider business in preparing business cases, M&A or other strategic opportunities.

As a FMCG company the management of inventory is crucial to the business, so any improvements you can make to storage rules and decisions on changes to keep times and warehouse layouts would be beneficial.

Working with the Data and Analytics team you will supporting the creation of a data dictionary for consistent data definitions across the business.

As a senior member of the FP& A team you will be responsible for supervising, coaching and training other analysts.

Profile

ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified with a strong academic record

You will be a highly commercial individual with prior experience of working in FP&A or other commercial finance roles.

You will enjoy working in fast paced companies and have a resiliant and adaptable personality which thrives in these environments.

Your written and verbal communication skills will be second to none with a strong understanding of business to proactively identify areas of risk or under performance against financial and non-financial goals. You must be able to confidently and robustly challenge.

You will be a team player with a demonstrable history of working with departments across multiple locations but also be able to work autonomously.

You will be comfortable working with very large and complex datasets spanning millions of records. This will require
both a strong analytical mindset and strong IT technical skills (e.g. MS Excel and other analytical technologies).

Being a complex business, we have multiple reporting requirements and KPIs. You will have a strong track record in
designing and codifying effective KPIs to ensure a single version of the truth. You will have a track record in
designing and implementing reports and reporting frameworks which help their users achieve improved business
performance.
