The Company

My client is a circa $20m turnover company that is a wholly owned subsidiary of a NZ parent company. The two businesses are located together and in this role, the sole charge company Accountant will be supported by a CFO of the Parent but report directly to the GM of the subsidiary. The business operates in the import and distribution space, based in Highbrook in great offices with a family atmosphere.

The Role

The role of Sole charge company Accountant is relatively broad. You will get to own the finance function fully whilst partnering the General Manager. Your key responsibilities will include:

· Preparation of monthly financial accounts, with commentary & review of performance

· Partner the GM from a financial perspective

· Assist the Parent FC and GM"s with budgeting and forecasting

· Prepare the payroll of approximately 20 people on a weekly process

· Take ownership of the Accounts payable and any receivables

· Inventory accounting, including stocktakes

· Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations

· Assist with year end reporting requirements

· Manage inter-company Accounts

· Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register

· Other ad hoc reporting as required

Your Profile

To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone who is capable of taking full ownership of the month end accounting process. You must be able to demonstrate previous experience in an inventory related business where you have done full accounting for stock. Additionally, you must have strong communication skills to be able to partner the GM - so your ability to provide insights and analyse the numbers is also important. As this is a sole charge role, you must be hands on and be willing to do the clerical accounting functions of AP, AR & Payroll combined with the Accounting functions. My client is looking for someone that has great common sense and a practical view of the world and someone that is also a quick learner. Lastly my client is looking for someone that can demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
