My client is a very large business with operations that span the globe. The company has a proud heritage in NZ having been around for a long time but today is owned offshore. The NZ operation is very large for NZ standards and consequently the NZ business has multiple jurisdictions under their remit. The business has a down to earth Kiwi culture but due to its complexity requires agile, resilient and hardworking people who can think laterally.
The Role
The role of Commercial Business Partner supports the Emerging Markets & International sales categories of this business. This role will report directly to a Commercial Manager but have huge amounts of interaction with other business units due to the functional & vertical integration structures of the business. We are looking for an individual who can breakdown complexity into simple structures and who can bring practical solutions to the business. You do need to be able to demonstrate some modelling capability, an ability to work across multiple systems and someone that has high EQ. You ideally will have experience with manufacturing or FMCG type industries but over and above, the personal characteristics combined with strong business partnering capability will be crucial.

The Role
The role of Commercial Business Partner supports the Emerging Markets & International sales categories of this business. The core responsibilities include:
- Support the creation & execution of the annual budgeting process
- Provide regular management reports supporting the business decision making on financials, industry, market, customer & product trends and analysis
- Breakdown the budget into monthly targets for manager and provide reports to track actual costs versus budgets on a daily/weekly and monthly basis for key cost drivers
- Ensure actual data is captured in the GL or other systems to enable weekly reporting to the management team.
- Support business cases
- Project work; whether this be systems or finance specific projects.
