With the growth of the newly opened Business Services Center in Warsaw for a global production company, we are now extending Finance and Accounting team and looking for experienced candidates for the position of a General Ledger Accountant.
Main duties will include:
- Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time in compliance with the US GAAP and local statutory accounting standards
- Perform account reconciliation (Accruals, Interco, Prepayments) as well as subledger reconciliations (Bank, Receivables, Fixed Assets, Payroll etc)
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of all G/L transactions; sample checks of postings and grant compliance to all MSA Policy and US GAAP financial standards
- Supervise small AP/AR team to guide team in issue resolution and compliance issues.
- Co-ordination and processing of month end closings and financial reporting; provide variance analysis; responsible for SOX (Internal Control) compliance
- Prepare / coordinate proper statutory year end closings under local GAAP and produce subsequent financial reports
- Provide statutory year end reports, liaise with auditors to ensure efficient audit and sign-off
- Maintain Chart of Accounts
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives and track service level achievements
- Liaise with USGAAP and local external auditors ensuring effective communication, data provision and issue resolution.
- Act as Single Point of Contact to Regional Controller and Finance team Berlin
Requirements:
- international accounting qualifications e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA
- US GAAP strongly preferred but IFRS or similar Anglo-Saxon GAAP will be acceptable
- min. 3 years of experience, preferably on a similar position
- ability to take decisions after independent judgements on non-standard cases
- fluent English, both spoken and written for everyday work - mandatory requirement
- German or other European language will be an extra asset
- ERP experience required, SAP - strongly preferred
