Our client is a Private Equity backed, international business providing specialist products to over 16 million people in 14 countries. With a turnover in excess of £800m, the company has enjoyed consecutive annual growth over the last 16 years and continues its expansion both in the UK and in Europe. The company has over a hundred years of history with a broad range of of products, but has specifically focussed on the domestic product market in more recent times. A market leader in their field in the UK, the strategy, is to continue to drive growth in the UK and to roll out a similar model across Europe with a view to a likely exit event over the next two to three years.



As a result of some internal restructuring, we are now looking for a highly capable UK Finance Manager to report directly into the UK Financial Controller. You will be a key member of the UK Finance team, playing a critical role in supporting the function, challenging the status quo of the processes and playing a key role in the development of the team. You will take ownership of the management accounting and month-end processes for the largest UK subsidiary and take a lead role in critical UK Finance Projects, including improving the timeliness, of the month-end reporting process and the implementation of IFRS 17. You will play a key role in supporting the UK Financial Controller in the reporting and presentation of monthly results to the Group CFO, clearly documenting and articulating the drivers for variances to budget, key accounting judgements and opportunities and risks to the budget for the financial year. The UK Finance Manager will support the Group budgeting and forecasting cycles, modelling the balance sheet and group cash flow. You will possess the ability to build strong relationships with various stakeholders in the business including FP&A, Client Management and Service teams so that you can represent UK Finance interests in group wide projects including the implementation of new strategies and onboarding of new clients. In addition to your day to day duties, you will assist with ad hoc finance projects and provide support to Director of Corporate Finance including Solvency II and preparation of Corporation Tax computations and VAT / IPT returns.



The ideal candidate will be a graduate qualified accountant either coming straight from public practice at a Manager or recent Senior Manager level or from industry where you have acquired some strong Financial and Management accounting experience in a group or divisional capacity. You will be capable of engaging and delivering clear objectives that add value to the business as well as motivating and developing the team. The ideal candidate will need advanced Excel ability, clear written and oral communication skills and be a confident, self-starter with the gravitas to operate in a dynamic environment. In addition, the role will require a candidate who possesses good attention to detail, sound judgment, logical decision making skills and have a very hands-on approach.
