The Doncasters Group is a leading international manufacturer of high-precision alloy components which are designed to operate in the most demanding of conditions. With 240 years of experience, this fast-moving group is constantly developing its broad range of products and processes to best serve the aerospace, industrial gas turbine, specialist automotive and petrochemical markets. Doncasters global revenues are over £250 million, employing over 1,500 staff worldwide and their group head office is based in Burton-Upon-Trent.

Following the successful restructuring of the Group's balance sheet in March 2020 and subsequent appointment of a new Group CFO, the organisation now needs to further strengthen its finance team with the appointment of a Group Financial Controller. For this high-profile role, we are seeking an individual who has a 'can do' attitude and an analytical mind and experience of dealing with a variety of senior stakeholders.

About the role

Leading the broader Group Finance team, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the Group's financial accounting process and will set, maintain and deliver timely reporting. As Group Financial Controller, you will work closely with the Group's site Finance Directors and Financial Controllers to establish and maintain an effective business control framework. You will also use your experience to be the primary contact for external auditor relationships. Finance is a highly valued commercial function within the business and is at the heart of all key strategic decisions and therefore this is an exciting opportunity to influence and evaluate profit and cost efficiencies within the global organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will need to be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with post qualification experience in a financial management position. In addition, we are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate a strong understanding of management accounting and financial reporting, as well as recent practical experience of driving continuous improvements, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
