The role
As Associate Tax Specialist / Tax Specialist is required to support the Finance function of this leading global firm. Your role will be to ensure the accurate and timely preparation and submission of complex monthly and quarterly UK (and some EU) excise duty, VAT and other statutory returns for all European operations. Corresponding with HMRC / other relevant tax authorities regarding any queries, issues or audits, you will reconcile tax return calculations and payments to SAP data. Communication with various internal and external personnel is required to obtain the information needed to ensure complete, accurate and timely indirect tax reporting. Supporting the Indirect Tax Manager by assisting with ad hoc projects / tasks when required, you will maintain an accurate tax calendar for the indirect tax team and all indirect tax files. Performing tax research as needed you will deal with internal queries, escalating to management when required
The requirements
A qualified / part qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or willing to gain qualifications (Associate), you should be degree (or equivalent) educated, ideally in an accounting / finance or related discipline. With a minimum of 2 years finance / accounting / tax experience you should possess advance MS Office skills i.e. Word and Excel and preferable some SAP experience. Displaying the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with functional and business stakeholders, you will be skilled in identifying issues and problem resolution. A competent independent as well as team worker, you will evidence the ability to read and interpret company policies, regulatory guidelines and other work-related documentation.
